questions about my new garret t3
i was lucky to find this turbo on a 86 or 87 ford thunderbird turbo coupe, it looks freshly rebuilt, no shaft play, spins freely..well my question is..
what is the stock internal wastegate spring rated at?
i've also heard different opinions on the water cooling...one of which to just leave the inlet/outlet unplugged..dont run coolant lines, somebody else told me run the lines, and another person said plug them..
all help is appreciated.

Probably not a lot of people here that will know anything about that. I messed with some SVO's which had similat T3/T4 setups. I believe these would run about 14-psi on premium gas. You may want to try the SVO bulletin board. Just do a word search on Mustang SVO & you should fine the link. Hope this helps.

all t3's arent created equal...chances are if it is adjustable it is a volvo turbo.

thats a lot of what i've been getting, but i was told that the automatics and manuals had different sized compressors..
even jeff on hmt agreed to the 10psi that somebody posted.
im thinking that i will just end up cutting and threading on a long nut to make a home made boost controller...or break out my money and buy a real manifold and wastegate and trash the internal wg.
