Default Track Numbers on Turbo GSR Hatch, w/twist....

This was my first time at the track. I only watch street racing, dont participate. I know my main problem was my launching which you will be able to see by my poor 60ft times. I ran my 92 civic vx hatch. Made 223.4 whp and 174.1 ft/lbs in 92 degree weather. This day was 60 degree weather. I had my whole rear gutted. Also these runs were done on 16in kumho ecsta supra street tires. My 3rd run was my best run, but look at my trapped speed. I didnt look at my speedo, but is that a mistake by the machine? I have the run video taped also, and it showed up 13.8 @ 124.89 mph. What do you guys think. When i talked to one of the tower guys he said there was no mistake with that run.

No. that's about right. because you couldn't hook up on the launch, when it did, you went like a bat outta hell. That's a typical Greddy Kit trap speed

cant read the slips, but a 124 mph trap is not right - no doubt about it. i dont care how much your spinning off the line your not going to trap that high with that little hp

There is no way it trapped 124mph. My car makes 250 whp and on street tires with a 2.2 60ft it runs 13.8 @104. If you look at your 1/8 mile it ran 83 mph. In order to trap 120+ you would have to trap in the mid 90's in the 1/8th.

Seems like your 1/4 times should be lower. I ran a 14.2 in a 99 Prelude with 220whp and 210wtq with full interior on street tires and 17"s

Chances are something might have flown through one of the traps (piece of paper or something) and tripped it. I have seen that happen before.

Oh my bad. I didn't scroll over to the 13.8 time. In that case that sounds about right.

What were your other runs? You said you had 3?

If you again show 12*MPH on those runs then thats what I would say it is.

120+ is about 320-350 some HP.

You trapped 104 with a slower time, less torque, a heavier car than me. I was running a vx hatch gutted in the rear.

Not doubting you but, i finished before the other guy, it wasnt windy, and i dont know how a piece of paper could have been flying that fast. I have it on video, when i finished the race the board also lit up showing 13.8 @ 124.89 at the same time. so i still dont know. I knew there was going to be alot of skeptism seeing how this is honda-tech. But the people who run the track up in the tower even said that there was no mistake.

I had 4, all my runs are in the picture in for original post....I understand that, but it was my first time there and 3 other runs sucked because i really fucked up my launches bad. My 3rd which was my miracle run was my only good launch/run that i made....

Theres your answer.

Looks like your traping @ 102. Seems on par with how much power you said.

your NOT trapping 12$

what kind of greddy kit are you talking about? If so i need to get that kit, because most of the greddy ones i've known are one of the most restrictive kits out there because they seek to get the carb legal approval.

Something has to be wrong. 124 is a very high trap speed. Look at your other trap speeds, one of them is 101, the other 102, and the other one again is 101. How you gained over 20 mph with one run is impossible, track error. Even with terrible launches, trap speed remains in the same ballpark.

IE> Me, turbo gsr w/ Civic CX, gutted rear.
14.3@105 mph 2.6 60'
13.5 @ 108 mph 2.3 60'
Street tires 16 inch rims

Here is a telltale way to firgure it out if u didnt look at your speedo...

with my GSR tranny i crossed the line @ 115mph and I was right at redline, 8k rpm... in the very top of forth gear...

Did you shift into 5th gear on the track?

Good thinking, unless his rev limit was about 9k, then he could have trapped 125 in 4th easily. . .

You do not pick up 42 MPH from 1/8 to 1/4 unless you go 1/2 throttle and it's a 1200 HP car.
