Oil in Compressor of Turbo. Help. Suggestions?
I have Brand New Turbonetic t3t04e turbo with Stan (flemenco-t oil line, fast-turbo.com) , in my 96 GSR. Stock Oil Pump etc.
Ive been boosting for over 3-4 months now, and now I notice there was oil in my compressor housing. I doubt it is a blown seal, but maybe oil pressure is too high?
Back Pressure? Oil line looks fine and not kink or anything. Any other inputs on this situation..? Just trying to salvage/save the turbo before it goes bad... There is no shaft play or anything to the turbo, still very smooth.
Anyone ever experienced this? Let me know how you guys solved it, insead of telling me to go for a rebuild.. Seems Minor. Thanks!

sounds to me like the seal has started to go. I am sure if your oil pressure where to high you would have a CEL... but yeah I would take the turbo off and check the seal.
Yikes, that aint great. Weird how the seal will just go.. Hmm..
I guess I have to do what i gotta do.
TUrbo = Money.. <--Damn Good and bad route to take..

Is this something I should consider? My turbo wheels is balance etc.. So no need to pay high money for repair?

are you using 3an feed line??
And make sure your return is not backing up, the easiest way I found to do this is after the car has sat overnight and is cold. Pull the return on the turbo side, if oil comes out thats a bad thing, make sure the car is level when you do this.

I beleive the line is 3an feed and 10an return. The lines were bought from Flamenco-T here on Honda-tech, http://www.fast-turbo.com .
Im sure the lines are ok. (but good idea, I will do that tomorrow, and see if the return line clears all of the oil, Even yet, I will try to take the return off and pour in oil, to see if it goes through )
Any other suggestions, or anyone ever experienced this? and their Solution?
Thanks.

yeah I dont think it is the return line but never hurts to check it. But if its not the return line then I would take the turbo off and inspect the seal.

I did have the same problem, new turbo I was like WTF.
I was overfilled on oil (don't ask) and it didn't have room in the pan to drain
I caught it in time to save the turbo though

Did you have the pan tapped towards the very top?
Where was your oil in relation to the marks on the dip stick?

Too much oil might be your problem. Secondly I accumulated a bunch of oil in my comp. housing b/c I ran a line directly from the valve cover to the turbo's intake tube (emulating the stock vent setup). It sucked a shitload in. I put a catch can in place and that ended that.

I just run about in the middle of the 2 dots, like the owners manual
if you got a tape measure this link can give you a good Idea of where you are at in relation to the bung you have welded in

Hmm, that might and might not be the problem. I did have a little to less oil, and found oil in the compressor housing.
After an oil change, I had oil a little (1-2mm over the dot on the dip stick).. And still did the same thing..
But good news, for some reason, seems as if the oil leak had stopped for no apparent reason? I'll keep you guys updated.
