Default rsr exmag...Loud?

Hey guys. I'm getting my motor end soon in my 92 cx hb. It was time to remove the little sucker and throw something better. Well the deal is i will have to change my cat, and decided to get a full cat for better air flow. I was thinking of the apexi n1 full cat, but heard it was a bit loud. Went with the rsr exmag instead because i heard it was a bit less loud. Anyone here have it? and can you compare it to the apexi n1? Also, the rsr gt2 is great also, just the crap is going to be damn loud.

N1 is way louder than ExMag. I have the ExMag on my EG with intake, headers and high flow cat and it is still quieter than stock at idle. It isn't a straight-though like the N1 and the muffler looks just like the stock one except for the black coating (which doesn't come off easily). The exmag is also all stainless. I think it helped me more with midrange than upperend. Of course, the tip is pretty big. I'm having mine cut off and a more stock-looking ss pipe welded on after having been stopped by the 5-0. The tip is the only thing that gives away that you have an exhaust, even though it isn't that big compared to the other ones out there. It's like the stock tip on steroids. Open it up and it roars. Midrange is deep but controlled. It can have a nice growl to it depending on your setup. I think it would sound meaner on a b series engine. Anyone have a clip of it on a b16 or b18? No ricey sound with this one.

If you can find an ES tuning pipe, they are very quiet.

the rs*r ex-mag exhaust is not loud...keeps you honest in front of the cops. the only time my car gets loud is when i hit the higher rpm's (5500+)

if you want the sleeper look and don't need the attention, the ex-mag's for you

I put a very small review in this thread

https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=1016140

Other people also chimed in with some good word on the EX MAG.

I have the Exmag on my 92 si. I have a b16 with ITR headder, JDM ITR cat, skunk intake and OEM aibox with spoon filter. It has a very smooth sound. At idle you can barely hear it but driving it sounds really smooth. just like with any exaust it does get a bit loud in the car at certian RPMS. I honestly haven't had anyone drive my car to see what it sounds like outside the car. Its got a nice stockish look also.
