OK so i have an 04 ep3...hate the taillights....
bought some 02s off a guy....and u have to change the plugs on the things this i got and all....the socket for the turnsignal is the one that doesnt swap over and there isnt one to be reused from the old light.....now on majestic honda i can find the socket and all but i can find the plug that plugs into the socket....i kinda want that so i do have to rig it in there with solder and such...does anyone have a clue how to get that plug for the swap

 

It looks to be harness #7 but, I did the same thing and just crimped on female spade connectors and tapped them into the existing wire harness. Very simple and you don't even have to cut the existing plugs off if you don't want to.

yeh looks like i have to go with a half assed connector like that i guess itll work oh well or i could take the old reverse socket and put it where the unused hole is and leave the top one be..... what u think good idea? i think itll work out haha im a drunk genius haha

 

I actually went from 02s to 04s... I just soldered inside the little harness, no connection showing, a little solder + electrical tape won't hurt... I actually have some 02 tails with sockets and plugs for sale at the moment if anybody is looking for some...

 

too late for that i already have these i may goto the junkyard and try and find a plug for these from another honda if not oh well

 

and after some dremel work on the tails some soldering and some sweating....

Notice where the turn signal is now JDM location and didnt have to rig it up just left the top socket empty for now maybe use it as a brake light ive seen a guy do that also

why are the japanese companies going with the mitsubishi/lexus look these days ...sad to see it but my hunch is the fast and furious crap series has actually influenced taste in cars for the masses

What kind of suspension are you on JdMB16Ahatch?

 

tein type flex spoon rear upper bar,progress rear sway/tie bar, tanabe underbrace...gonna be getting a mr alex or j's front upper bar soon spoon front bar for the ep3 doesnt look as apealing as the other 2....
for anyone who wants to know anything about this tails bolt on no prob...only thing is the problem with the sockets not plug and play.....u can do what i did or buy the 02 socket for the top hole and solder onto the socket itself cause honda doesnt sell that plug seprately unless u get it off a wrecked honda or something like that

and i do agree that honda should just go ahead and be honda not try and look like the rest like u said tryin to do the lexus look and whatever....i guess they thought it would up sales....i do like the headlights better than the 02-03 though and the sideskirts are another plus....still wish they had come out with a front lip similar to the typeR one

How much do you want for the 02 taillights and sockets?

 

i'm a little out of the loop on the cosmetic changes, but the 04-05 only received the side skirts? the front and rear bumpers are the same as the 02-03?

that is correct

 

I have no idea wtf Honda was thinking with those 2004+ taillights. Thank goodness I bought my Si back when everyone still thought they were dog ****.

 

I think the 02/03 tails are fugly, like they couldn't think of any tail design so they like redded out everything. Seriously how many tail lights do you see that are all 1 color (except that one white patch because it had to be)... I'm al for being non-descript, but I need a little more style than all red diamonds...

If you've never seen the 3d tails... that's bad...

the 04 tails are somewhere between rice and nice... I would like something different, but the 02 tails were the suck...

 

u also probably like big wings and huge wheels...i prefer a lower profile to each his own
