Lately my car runs fine in the beginning, but once I drive it for awhile it starts to bog between 3000-4000 rpms in 3rd and sometime 4th gear. When i stop the car and get out, I can smell gas. Anyone know what that could be? Running rich? Bad fpr??? Help.

 

find out where the gas smell is from, it would narrow your problem

 

The gas smell is the strongest from the muffler end of the exhaust system.

 

maybe running too rich...?

 

Check around your fuel rail for leaks. If the little washer that floats around in the fuel pressure regulator doesnt move around you might need to replace it.

 

My girlfriends old ford explorer did that. After alot of work by ford, it turned out to be the gas cap.

 

if my car is running to rich...how do I fix or adjust that?
