Default Another Intake manifold gasket question.

Ive been doing a lot of research on these intake manifold gaskets to lower the intake temps and was looking into gettin one.

Hondata, seems to be the way to go, but I read somewhere that you need to run 2 OEM gaskets. One on either side of the Hondata gasket to make a seal. Do I? On all the threads I searched nobody really makes it clear if you do or not.

I saw that ANR has one but the quality is cheap, NextGear also has one, Outlaw Engineering has a kit, but its like a half inch thick and I have to get into changing out the studs and Im afraid I might run into clearence probs with my fire wall.

If anyone has any kind of experience with any of these products let me know whats the deal.

Thanks

Matt

i heard about the outlaw engineering kit, i looked at the picture and it looks good. i have been using a hondata intake manifold gasket, for over a year maybe two. to this date i have yet to develop a leak, and that's after switching intake manifolds three times
on a side note, see if you can bring the crx to bradenton tomorrow. i'll be there with my crx and a few friends!

what makes you say the quality of our gaskets are cheap? have you had first hand experience with one of our gaskets?
we have sold thousands of these gaskets and have never had one leak or fail. jojo callos used to run one on his integra with upwards of 40 pounds of boost without problems.
is it the price that makes you think the quality is cheap?

Sorry about the false information ANR008, I should of said, that what I heard its cheap. I have never had my hands on one, I have no idea about the quality. It could be better then Hondata, I just saw on some posts made by some Tech members said that the fitment has been a problem.

But who knows, thats just word of mouth.

Didnt mean to step on your toes. Hell....I might even end up buying one of yours.

So, back to my question....I want to get this is stone....I DONT have to use 2 OEM gaskets? And does anyone know of any companies that makes a gasket for the throttle body? Besides the outlaw engineering.

you do not have to sandwich our gasket with 2 oem gaskets but you can if you want.

whether it's a rumor or not that ANR IM's gaskets are cheap quality with fitment incompatibility...

how do you approach to this kind of rumor....i mean it could be true and not true, but in any case it wil hurt AN_R's reputation on the market of competition as well as reliability...will you provide any warranty on quality and fitment AND some SOLID proves for us(customers) just to keep our confident positive on your side....

"a rumor can kill you if youre not trying to prove it wrong"
"a rumor is a false gossip if you proved youre right"

choices are your, fight it or lose it

so, are the majority of you guys using OEM gaskets with the plastic ones? So AN-R, do you guys suggest we sandwich the gasket or just it buy itself?

Ok, heres the deal. With a usdm obd2(usdm b16a2) If you use a Skunk 2 intake manifold it hits a part of the head, causing a non-secure seal. I'm sure that this doesn't happen on a obd1 B16 head(jdm) because my homeboy has this on his head and had no problems. Check a GSR head.....it may have the same problems as the usdm b16a2 head. The castings are different from the obd1 jdm sir head from the usdm b16a2 head, and thats where you run into the fitment issues. Check the GSR heads fellas....not sure on that one...

I have heard people say that the Hondata one deforms and restricts airflow after a few months use. Although I have never owned one, so I can't say for sure.

We do not require stock gaskets along with our gaskets to get it to seal.
