Hopefully someone has some ideas for me. Here are the clues:

-Engine light (sometimes) is on but im not sure if it is related. it appears to be 17 flashes from the ecu light (1 long and 7 short following it) indicating SPEED SENSOR ???? (i think) No idea what it means or how to check or fix it.

WHAT HAPPENS WHEN IM DRIVING:

if im cruising at even throttle...usually at 1/2 throttle or less, out of no where its like an on/off switch is flipped for the engine for about 1/2 of a second and then it picks back up at the same throttle. Doesnt feel like im missing one cylinder, its like the whole engine goes off and right back on. When this happens I go very LEAN making me think the fuel is cutting off, unless this is what i would read if everything was cutting off. Sometimes when this starts to happen...it pulses.. like a "car F*ck" and then its fine. It usually only does it for a mile or so, and then its fine. I have noticed...not sure if its related or not, but when i drive and the engine light is NOT on i seem to get it more, and when the light comes on, its doesnt do it anymore. BIZARRE

make sure ur speedo works
that will tell u that the speedo cable its ok, and that at least its not mechanical...


for the engine on and off
make sure ur main realy might not be bad and getting all happy trigger during cruise

other than that all i can say is make sure ALL conections are nice and snug, and that all GNDS are clean
