Replacing right rear ABS wheel sensor
My ABS light has been on for a while in my 94 EX and just had it checked out, looks like the RR sensor is bad. The light comes on only after I start moving. Is this something that I can replace fairly easily?
Doesn't seem like there would be much to it but I figure some of you might have had the same issue. I can get a new one for $120 or I can get a used hub for $50 with the sensor still attached, no guarantees it's still working though. Replacing a hub sounds a little more involved so I'm not sure which way to go. Is it just a matter of plugging the new sensor in and would I need to reset the computer.
Any help would be appreciated, thanks!

You can extract the ABS codes yourself. Simply short w/ a wire jumper the Service Check Connector (2 wire open connector) under the glove box. You get a long 2-sec flash, followed by short flashes for codes. Two digit codes are flashed w/ first digit-1 sec pause-2nd digit. Multiple codes have 5-sec pause between codes. For example Code 42 is F-F-F-F-1sec Pause-F-F. There are about 24 possible codes w/ code numbers up to 84 in my 94 EX manual.
I would first remove the wheel speed sensor, and clean the sensor and cogged ring that drives the sensor. I used a rag pushed into the sensor hole w/ screwdriver to clean as I turned the wheel driving the cogs against the rag to clean. This can sometimes fix your problem. If not, you probably need a new sensor. If you have a good VOM, the resistance of the wheel sensor should be 700-1100 ohms. If it's outside those limits, you need a new sensor.
good luck

yes you can do this yourself.
remove the wheel and you will see the sensor held on by 2 bolts and the wires are bolted on aswell.
just remove all bolts undo the plug and fit the new sensor.
once you have done this you will need to clear the codes. for this you need to remove the abs fuse for 10 seconds. sorry not sure which fuse it is but it is under the bonnet.
