Default Refurbished alarms

Any reason to avoid 'em or should they be fine? I wouldn't expect any issues from it since it claims to be fatory refurbished and it carries a limited 1 year warranty.

Thanks for any input.

The budget route is not the way I would go for car security 94

Well, if the alarm had a problem and was serviced and the problem is gone now, then why not?

It's the Clifford Matrix RSX 3.5 at http://www.ikesound.com. One of my concerns (aside from being refurbished for whatever reason) is I don't believe ikesound.com is an authorized dealer.

Most people will tell you to get the alarm new. With all the time and labor, it doesn't seem like it's worth the risk...

unless it's from an Authorized dealer, I wouldn't purchase it. Those systems carry a lifetime warrenty IIRC if bought from an authorized dealer. This way if something goes wrong down the road (such as my brother's sytem will only learn the Lock button) the manufacturer will cover it. If you get it via the 3rd party, then you're under their 1 year and I bet it's a limited warrenty that leaves alot of coverage missing.

Ok normally I like refurbished stuff ok but with an Alarm I'm not sure I would want to get one that may still have a problem. I personally think alarms are annoying and no one pays attention to them anyway they just figure it is a false alarm so if your car doesn't already have one I don't know that I would put on in. I put a security system in my car only because I wanted the keyless entry.

Thanks for the replies. I think I'll follow my better judgement and your opinions and pass on it.
