Sears sells something that is suppose to be able to take out striped screws.

use a dremel tool and cut a notch in the screw to take it out with a flathead.

The same thing happend to me. Was it only the middle of the head where you use the phillips screw driver? b/c thats what happend to me! I used vise grips and clamped it to the head of the bolt and just twisted it right off. If you snaped the head off, you could try to cut a slot in it to use a flat head, or just do as DB8 TEG said. Good Luck bro!

it's called craftsman Bolt Out.. you can get it at your local Sears. It saved my ***, should only cost around $20-$25 for a full set.

An extractor.. male or female will usually work or you can cut the head off, or you can drill it out, or you can grab the edge with vice grips... shall I go on?

make a small hole with a drill/drill bit then use an easy out to remove the broken bolt. 10 mins
