I have a 97 Accord SE 4-Door with my power windows dragging. I can still feel the motor is pushing behind the door panels. One of my friends suggested that I lube up the rails. I would like to know where I can find the lubrication and how I would go upon lubing my windows or is there anything else I can do to help my windows? Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated. Thanks a lot

Use silicone lubricant (found in most car parts stores as well as hardware stores) . Get a qtip and spray that lubricant on there and run the qtip several times throughout the window track. Run the window up and down a couple times and relube as needed.
This is only a temporary fix but it will help...seems like a common problem with hondas. If you get up to it take off the door panel and spray in the bottom window track
.
Hope this helps

This is a very common prob. with 5th gen Accords. My 96ex is the same way, only I have had the window lubed and still it would drag. I have had the whole door panel removed and found out that the motor was still in tip top shape but the tracking and some other parts were comming loose causing the window to become sluggih as it moved against them on its way up. Tomarow the Accord goes in for inspection and my mechanic found a solution he will try it use to fix the prob. So in essance, this might be your problem if lube does not work.
and try searching, there are plenty of threads on this subject. Maybe there will other solutions to try

Charri,
Very common problem on all '90 & up Hondas. The window run channel is bad. This is the rubber track that the window slides up and down in. Yes, lubing it will help, but only temporarily. If you don't get it fixed correctly, eventually the window regulator, or the motor will go bad. In either case, it'll cost much more than replacing the run channel.
It's a case of you can pay a little now, or alot more later.

How much would replacing my window channel be? Im still in high school working for a decent wage. It would be nice to have a ball park figure because Im sorta saving for my snowboard too
On most honda's from 1990 to about 1997, I have found that the rubber ends on the rails seems to jst fall apart. about 3/4th the way up the door down to the end of the rail.
The odd part is you don't even find the missing rubber from the rails in the door. But with this happens you end up with your window sticking going down only. Going up they have no problems.
So far I have not found a really good source for this rubber weather strip for the windows.
