ls+vtec make 13's
i drive a 90 hatch and i am new to all motor but what i want to know is if i take a ls block
ctr pistons
b16 head
sk2 stg 2 cams (or can i go bigger and not have the valves slap the pistons?)
valve springs and retainers
of course i have a cai
i baught a used dc header
i would like a new manifold any suggestions?
b16 cable tranny with lsd if i can afford it
i mean 13's at sea level where i am at it a gsr motor in a eg coupe with mods and a 75 shot only runs 14's altitude sucks!!!

I'd say 200hp will get you into the 13's, especially in a hatch. You will need hondata with that kind of compression (ctr 12:5:1). I would reccomend some new rods and pistons b/c revving high on a stock ls bottom won't work very well
. I'd just get a skunk2 intake manifold and a larger (68mm or 70mm) throttle body. Good luck man, keep in mind there's a lot to ls/vtec if you want to do it right. I'm 4k deep just in parts and I have an itr with all the stock stuff!

i found a block and crank for 175
new ctr pistons with rings 325
b16 head for 400
i plan on about 4-5 k
i plan on taking about 8 months to try and piece it together and wait for some good deals

Yeah, with that much time to look you'll find some good deals. I unfortunatly had to do an "unexpected" rebuild, so I had to order mostly new stuff. I'm still a pretty good shopper or whatever and try to buy from whoever has the best price. I figure it saves me money and supports those willing to make a fair profit while providing products at a fair price. Anyway, good luck man do your research and you'll end up with a nice motor.
In an hatch just about 200hp will get you into the 13's or even high 12's,lsvtec are so powerfull you never know, but get valvetrain or say good bye to your engine reving past 8000 and dont forget arp head bolts!

and my best time here was a 16.8 i have been told that we are like 2 seconds off sea level. its sucks

188/134 in a car that weights 2780lbs with me in it, 13.79@101mph, and a 13.79@99mph, intake, HyTech header and exhaust, ecu...that's about it.
