jdm k20a engine stamp: differences?
Does anyone know how to tell a jdm base DC5/EP3 motor from a jdm itr motor? I believe the engine stamp is the same as with the B-series motors, so is there any solid proof of a motor being an itr?
The stamp under the throttle body on block should say K20a.
On belt side there should be a sku # that also says K20a.
Vtec solenoid on type r does not have a pressure switch beside solenoid on top unlike Type s and possibly others.
black dip stick
I vtec cover just says I VTEC and under is DOHC ONLY

I believe he's asking how to tell the difference from a Integra Type-R and Integra Type-S (the new Integra iS) engines if both blocks are stamps K20A.
Exactly my point...K20A is all it reads on JDM blocks I believe. Besdies physical things that people can add, such as: the intake manifold, dip stick, valve cover, etc., Is there a stamp on the block with a number unique to the ITR? Anyone know? Thanks for the help guys.

There's a sticker I believe on the timing chain cover. On it, it should say something like:
2PRC-0A01E 267 1
K20A-3604483
OR
2PRB-AA000 270 1
K20A2-14022221
PRB = Type-S ECU
PRC= Type-R ECU
PNF = Base ECU

Thanks Blue. I also found that PRC meant the itr motor on ebay. I just hope its not that easy to fake...but it probably isnt that hard to print out another sticker and peal off the old one. However, this may have to do until someone finds a better way to ID the itr.
