Well just as it say my car keeps poping out of 5th gear. To my understanding its not really a common problem. Does anyone know what usually causes this?, and what king of repair imma need. I know my clutch or pressure plate is bad, and i already have a new clutch awaiting a flywheel before install.

 

is it doing it under hard acceluration or just cruising?

 

my car does the same thing...but in third...during any kind of driving

 

I'd be willing to bet, 98civicdream, that your transmission is going out.

id be willing to bet that to....in my first few years of driving i beet the hell out of the car and now i drive it nie and it hates me

 

same here, when i got my swap done i was driving it hard as hell but now when im chillin it wants to **** up.

 

its a worn syncro or a syncro ring that has gone bad and no keeping the gear locked i have replaced many of them on the civic ex tranny and the gsr 3rd gear

 

yeah mine does it in 2nd all the time when I let off the gas. It use to do it in 5th then my trans went 3 days later

 

I had the same problem w/ my LS swap a few years ago..

my 5th gear would suddedn'y pop out of gear on the hwy just cruising... Keep in mind the swap had less than 20k miles..

SOLUTION: Check ur Trany fluid or replace it w/ honda MTF to the proper level..

THat solved my gear popping problems immediately...
