My friend has a stock auto 94 Integra LS and it's throwing code 14 (IACV).

Here's what's happening, when it's parked or on neutral, the idle revs back and forth 1200-2000rpm constantly. Put it onto D and it jerks the car THUMP!!!

I unplugged the IACV and the idle revving stops. Put it onto D and it jerks the car THUMP also!

I've tested the IACV plug wire and it's reading 12.4V...which is perfect. I'm not sure if the IACV is bad or not, any way to test it? Any ideas as to what could be wrong?

When you unplug the IACV, what rpm does it go to? It's supposed to be low, around 450 or so on my '95. Maybe you need to adjust the base idle? Probably wouldn't hurt to clean out the IACV either.

 

When I unplugged the IACV, the RPM dropped down slightly around 500 constant.

I'll try adjusting the idle. Thanks for the reply.
