a few weeks ago my alt **** on me and it fried my battery. i replaced both. now it seems it's happening again..my lights and radio shut off in mid drive...the motor still runs. when i kill it won't usually start up again. my check engine light went on a while ago and my speedo and odometer don't work at all. my other guages are fine. i drive a 97 civic dx hatch. please help. any ideas would be greatly appreciated before i have to spend a fortune at the dealer. thanks guys.

dont go to the dealer, theyre ********. take it somewhere that gives free estimates and go from there if u are stumped. also have them check the part number on ur alternator, sounds like its too weak.

 

make sure the alternator and battery that you have were correctly installed and that they are good. especially if they are used.
