Honda (dealership) has had tranny off twice and can't find problem!! this sound is pretty constant. same in nuetral as it is in gear. braking, etc does not change volume or tone. anyone have similar occuarance????....TIA.....any trouble shooting leads are greatly appreciated. Note: car is running fine, except for the awful noise....no hesitation, etc.....runs good as always...

Be a little more specific.
When does the sound occur? Under acceleration? Load? Braking? Cruising? In every gear? Turning? Whereabouts does it seem to be coming from?

this sound happens all the time. it's the same under load, out of load, in gear, out of gear. sound really doesn't change much.

????????????
seems to be on passenger side of engine bay, but rather centered. i know this isnt' a very good description, but it's so loud and high pitch it's tough to pin point.
wow i have the same problem .. but my car only makes the nosie after driveing . once i get off the highway or drive with it awhile it starts to make that old belt nosies at low rpms.... or when u rev the car to 2k rpm it makes it for a second. it sounds really ghetto... i can;t pin point where it is comeing from... it started makeing the nosies 2 weeks after i installed my header .. i really wish i knew where this was coming from...

When they had the tranny off did they check the pilot bearing? It's possible thats where its coming from. Just another idea to ponder. Does the sound change with engine rpm or speed?

if you've already had the tranny taken off twice, i think it's time to pick up an engine stethoscope. i've never used one myself, but i'd probobly pick one up at this point. i hear they work pretty well.
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
