Default F/I newbie questions for LS motor in CRX

Right now, I have a 88 CRX with a LS swap. I wanna turbo my car this winter, but I have a few questions first, particularly about Hondata.

Here is part of the setup I have in mind:

Garrett t3/t04e turbo
InlinePro manifold
Tial wastegate and BOV
RC injectors
Stock internals

I plan on boosting about 10 psi at the track.

1. I think I wanna go with Hondata for reliability's sake. But the nearest tuner is a 3-4 hour drive from me, will I be ok to drive there with the Hondata untuned? I dont want anything to blow up lol. Also, right now I'm using a p75 ecu, will this work with Hondata or will it only work with a p28 ecu?

2. I'm a little confused by the wastegate. I want to boost around 10-11 psi at the track, so I need a .6 bar spring right? And I use a boost controller to up the boost?

4. Will I need to upgrade my fuel pump and map sensor?

5. What size injectors do you recommend? Will 450's be ok?

I'm a little nervous about doing the turbo swap by myself, do you have any other advice that will make the job easier?

Thanks guys

Your P75 will work. look into uberdata if u are a DIYer and want to save some $. a hondata basmap (will) should be okay untuned, u might get bad MPG though. maybe swap the injectors at the tuners place... maybe.

2. I'm a little confused by the wastegate. I want to boost around 10-11 psi at the track, so I need a .6 bar spring right? And I use a boost controller to up the boost?

correct. a boost controller raises boost over the wastegate spring. you cannot run less than your WG spring so maybe get a .5bar spring if u want to run less daily.

4. Will I need to upgrade my fuel pump and map sensor?

yes for the fuel pump. the stock honda map sensor is good up to 11lbs of boost.

5. What size injectors do you recommend? Will 450's be ok?

450's will be good for most turbo setups. you might need a adjustable FPR, but probably not, ask your tuner.

read read read here on honda-tech. just be confident in yourself, nothing is hard, its just a lot of different steps. there is a couple good turbo install write ups here on honda-tech. read a few of those.

Thanks guys

no problem. pm me if u have any more questions.

should be fine. if anything, your car should throw a CEL and it'll run in cripple mode

what crex said.

what happened to the 3rd question?

4. Will I need to upgrade my fuel pump and map sensor?

upgrade fuel pump and get a fuel pressure regulator. you might need to do the check valve thing for the map or get a missing link

5. What size injectors do you recommend? Will 450's be ok?

i'm using dsms and a resistor box...works fine

read honda-tech, team-integra, homemadeturbo
Thanks guys
