Default ls/vtec? or crvtec

i am considering a ls vtec and i want to know your opinions
is it worth it?
what kind of power do they make? (lets assume i go all motor for now)
i have also been told to buy a b18a or b block and have it sleeved to 2.0 liters
they say it is considerably cheaper than a crv block and its is sleeved.
is that worth it?
what kind of power do they make?

Sleve your LS block. Bore it to 84mm (i recommend Earl)

Use the stock 89mm crank and get some beefy rods in stock length, and forged pistons of your compression choise, and use APR fasteners.

Your bottom end is complete.

I second that...plus balance your crank and use ARP fasteners instead

I sent my block to RS machine last year for sleeving (85mm), I paid $1050 (includes shipping and handling bothways) From Hayward, Ca to SoCal)...They normally charge between $800 to 900..I would assume everyone else charge around that figure.

i built one about 6 months ago...fully built LS vtec...CRVs have thinner sleeves if I remember right, but if you get aftermarket sleeves not much difference... I went with the LS b18a 90-93 engine for one of my rex's, Darton open deck CRV sleeves so its a bored+ 2.0L 9-1 comp. JE pistons, Crower pro billets, balanced, built b16 head too pnp the works....should handle 20-25 psi, I think most people would prefer the LS....

They charge extra for assembly i would imagine.

The 1050 is just for sleeving. Dosent include any internals, thouse are extra.

Costs about 2500-3000 for a built bottom end.
