Thoughts about DC Sports SS Race header (DC5)?
I searched, but found nothing really recent. What are the final thoughts about the newer Dc Sports race headers (SS) for the RSX Type S? I know at first there were some QC issues, but have those been solved with no rattling?
Also, where did you guys get your O2 sims at? I assume the DC5 ecu will still run ok even though it is throwing a check engine light on the secondary O2.

Just put on my dc race header ceramic though. I have the o2 simulator. It threw a check engine light after about 70 miles of running it with the simulator then I went ahead and reset the ecu to get rid of it. Then it stayed off for another 50 miles or so then came back on. I was too lazy and pissed off to reset the ecu again so I just said forget it and left the check engine light on. Then about 25 miles of driving it just went off and hasn't come back on in 170 miles. So I hope it stays off. Power once you put on the header is not that noticable but after driving it for 30 miles or so, you really feel it and it just pulls really hard especially in 2nd gear. Mid and high rpm's are amazing.
Now the clearance issues aren't that great I have the 2nd gen ceramic header and it was supposed to get rid of all the sway bar tapping. It really hasn't though it hits the sway all the time. Especially in reverse and 2nd gear when down shifting. I am getting a ingalls torque dampener so hopefully that will help with the sway bar issues.
Overall it was worth it to put on. I really love it. Makes the car sound stock but once you get on it you can really tell. Considering how much I payed for it I belive it was a REALLY good deal. I got it for 270 shipped brand new.

def worth every penny. power is way better. also the noise your hearing might not be the sway bar. the header just makes noise from the flex joint, along with air passing inside. mine makes noises, and it does not hit anything under the car.

Well bro you will not need the 02 sim sensor once you get the RH. It is a waste of 70-80 bucks. The sim works for some and does not work for others. And in some rare case's I have read where the o2 sim has actually fried the ECU. In those cases those who had the 02 sim and later wanted to have hondata installed were surprised to find out that thier ECU was fried making them buy a new ECU. Those case's are rare but I just thought that I should list what I have read in the past. I have read were installing foil in the 02 sensor does the same job as the 02 sim, but once again works for some and not for others. In the end saving the extra 80 bucks is where it really counts.
I have had my DC ceramic RH for over 8k miles and my car has been running fine ever since. The car leaned out a bit but it actually made a little bit more hp ( butt dyno) and there is no pinging happening. So in all the Rh is doing well. This header provided excellent power in the low-mid range for my car and this was where I wanted it at.
You will get a bit of rattling from under the car, sometimes its from the header hitting the sway bar ( reverse) but the other rattling you will hear will be from the b-pipe hitting the underside of the car. The RH is actually longer then the stock header and cat thus pushing the exhaust out a bit more. So you will see that the RH actually pushes the b-pipe against the underside. Some thermo-wrap will solve this problem. The problems with the Rh are minor for the gain in power you recieve.
In all the RH is a good investment for the DC5. But since I got my Rh the price has actually gone up quite a bit. In the begining I had got mine for 220.oo from a local shop in AZ. But since then prices have gone up.
If you want more info bro just pm and I will answer what I know.

Go to http://www.clubrsx.com and do a search regarding that. Like I said a read a few case's where the owner wrote that. I am not exact but he said something about the 02 sim eventually messing the ecu up. And when the owner went to get his ecu flashed, the programmers said the ecu could not except the new information due to the 02 sim causing a problem in the ecu which eventually fried it.
Do a search and you should come up with more on that problem. It may have just been a very rare problem but I wanted to let you guys/girls know of all the problems I have heard about the 02 sims.

i think that ECU frying was a one time thing. prob just wrong alignment of the planets thing.
o2 sims don't work half of the time. that's pretty much documented by the number of cases where ppl say it doesn't work.

same here i have the ver2 when i barly got released but mines doesn't hit the sway or anything at all. it has about 1 in clearance i do has es motor mount inserts so the motor doesn't move at all
