water logging....?
I know if you buy a CAI you have to worry about this but how much water does it take to do that?? I mean if it rains and i drive over a puddle will i be screwed or if im just driving and you know how there can be a very small amount of water do i have to worry about that or is there some kind of cover you can put on it to help blcok water from getting in or what? Thank you for answering!!
when it comes to water-logging, the entire filter is basically meant to be submerged in water for it to produce a potential hydro-lock situation. A lot of times people purchase the bypass filter piece from AEM to counter this from happening, but personally, im not so sure on its effectiveness, anyone else care to tune in and inform?
With the bypass filter piece, is the car completely safe from waterlog/hydrolock?

i'll put it this way...
i had a 93 Si hatch with an AEM CAI w/ bypass valve....i was going down a street that was practically flooded and i still tried to go through it... i got up some speed cause i had quite a distance to go on this flooded street. Little did i know, there was a good 7-8" of water there. Half-way down this van was CREEPING along and i was forced to slow down almost to a stop and heard a gurgling noise from under the hood...my filter must've been submerged at some point because of the stupid van.
After clearing the water my car carried on like nothing happened. If it weren't for the Bypass the engine probably would've been trashed
AEM Air Bypass
If it were applicable on the EP3 i would've definately bought it!
