Rockford Fosgate amps, old vs. new?
I have an old school 800a2 amp which I love. The birth sheet showed 1056 watts. But, I'm selling my car/system and I'm debating on keeping the amp. Should I keep this amp for me and replace it w/something else, or are the newer (rounded) Rockford amps just as good?
id keep that amp.. if you like that one, then why replace it with something that you may not like? and just because somebody else tells you the new amps are better, they may not appeal to you.

I heard it was still prettygood... Not for sure though. I have the model newer than the one pictured above and the birthsheet stated 642 and the amp is a 500s. Ive been happy with it so..... Dont know bout the crome ones though

keep the 800a2
those are great amps....
its my opinion that RF has gone downhill since they've started doing alot of sales crap with Best Buy... I feel that their pre-2000 (the year) amps are far better than their newer lineups....

The older the Rockford products the better.
They are owned by a huge conglomerate now and their quality took a nose-dive. If you care to break open an old amp you will see that they have 1% TFT's, 120^C caps and so forth. Components comparable with todays Zapco, PPI, USAmps...etc. The one you have there im not so sure but the early endcap amps and the old endcap-less amps are very nice.

Yep when rockford fosgate started selling at best buy the amps went to hell unless you buy the power series. The punch series amps are worthless when compared to there older counterparts.
