Just installed a ITR head onto a B18C1 block, now idle is loping....need help!!!
I have a 99 B18C1 in my 98 Civic hatch, the motor has jdm itr pistons new rod and main bearings new gaskets and everything...the car was running fine until I put my brand new complete ITR head on with ITR IM and mugen head gasket. The motor is loping at idle. I am running the 99 gsr ecu still and I am not sure what is wrong....PLEASE HELP!!!!!

timing is fine...no vacum leaks... will turning down the idle stop the loping??
I am pretty sure that running the GSR ecu is not a good idea with the ITR IM since its designed a bit differently (no secondaries). Try a different ecu or chip that one.
Ya, try running a P73 ECU. As gumtape stated, the maps for the GSR and ITR ecu's need to be different due to the intake manifold. ecu.ff-squad.com maybe Katman might be able to help you out.
my idle is at 2100 rpm when I first start it up....which is a little high and it lopes too. Then as the car warms up it continues to lope....could this be from being too lean??

Car should idle fine w/either ECU. GSR ECUs run the skunk2 IM just fine, so it's not that.
I'd double check your valve adjustment and all forms of timing. Also, make sure that if you have adjustable cam gears...that they're set properly. Sometimes they come loose....

Wrong...wrong and wrong.
Your getting the 02 sensor code for one reason only. Because of the 02 sensor. I JUST replaced the 02's in my Type R because of the same code.
It is idling high because the code is puting the ecu into a safety mode. I would go as far as guessing that your VTEC isn't engaging? If your throwing an 02 code your VTEC will not engage the car will idle really high, and your torque curve/power will be out the window.
Get the car up in the air. Get under it, look at the wiring going to the 02 Sensor. Look for cuts in the shielding. Take the sensor out and look to see if it's plugged up, slimed up..whatever. If your doubtful about the functionality of the part, throw it out and replace with a new one.
After I did this, my Type R ran fine. I got V-ATTACK back, and my car idled where it was supposed to.

why?..could be other things. idle screw...hence, diff head. could have bought a diff throttle body that was fucked with. who knows?...02 sensor wont make the idle lope like it has huge cams...it stutters but not lope.
i could be wrong though, let let him find out. Then let him get back to us.

fixed O2 sensor problem...a wire came loose. Car still lopes though...I unplugged the IAC (the thing on the back of the IM) and alot of the loping stopped..now it just slightly lopes. What can I do now?
Wich Throtle cable are you using?
could be long shot but the GSR and ITR throtle cables are different
dont think its the ECU because Im running an C1 bottom end with an ITR head and Im using a chipped P28 ecu

Assuming that you torqued the head bolts down to specs, and the block and head mating surfaces were clean and smooth before you bolted them together, the Mugen head gasket should be just fine.

Coming mistake and it is usually the cause for idle to jump from 1000 -> 3000 -> 1000 -> 3000 like it's possessed.

Maybe the guy forgot to hook up the O2 sensors when everything went back in?
