h23 head problems

Default h23 head problems

i adjusted my vavle lash and when i started my car up it was fine then a tickin started. not sure what it was but its louder than before i did my vavle lash.


anyone got any clues on what it could be and how hard it would be to fix

Well H23's are normally kinda loud, but doublecheck all your lash settings, then maybe do a compression test, if ya got a gauge handy.

yeah, you probably did not adjust one of them correctly, it happen to me once

Couldn't agree more...it's very hard to know what a "slight amount of of drag" is exactly on your first time. Try it again and you'll get the feel for it a little better.

o this is my 3rd time i should of mentioned that earlier but it doesnt start right away like before it takes about half a minute to start ticking

nope it doesnt go away
another problem i ran into is
mid rpms like 3k-5k its really jumpy (like when your learnin how to drive stick)
some people told me its pry that my tables are off on my hondata

What did you adjust them too? Sounds like the 2nd problem could be the Hondata...

intake was .005 and exhaust was .007

is there anyway to fix that without retuning it
and what happend to my old tables

I don't know a lot about Hondata, but try .003(in.) and .006(ex) on your valves...that always works for me...

could it possibly be a bent vavle
i didnt adjust my vavle lash again but someone told me that it could be a bent vavle

The delay in onset of the ticking noise probably has to do with the temperature of the oil in your bearing journals. Your clearances drop a little lower when the oil is at warm viscosity, which is enough to give you seating problems.
