H22a on stock compression and 6lbs of boost.. has anyone run this?
At the topic states.. I would like to know if anyone out there is running a h22a with stock compression and 6-10lbs of boost. I was thinking about doing this as a project but I would like to know what some experences have been.
Thanks,
Doogie
EDIT: I have done some searching and I have found a couple of things kinda related. I would just like to know if anyone is currently running this setup and if its been reliable and what are the hangups they have had etc etc..

6lbs is within the limit of the stock internals, just make sure you have a good tuner.
the cr shouldn't be an issue at such low boost.
a search will yield more info than i have to offer, since i'm an NA guy...

No problems at all, it's all in the tune. So long as you don't have a problem with paying for 93-94 octane all the time. Mine has been every bit as reliable boosted as it was before boost. 44K on it right now, boosted since about 20K.
I ran 6psi on the jrsc and always put high oct gas in and blew two chunks out of the piston and yes stock piston are crap so if you boost listen to the motor for pings
Ive been running 6.5lbs for over 4000 miles on my afc hack tuned prelude. Runs great, no problems what so ever. I run 92-94 octane, and i drive it daily. Compression is still perfect..I check it weekly just to make sure. I don't understand how peoples motors blow up from running boost at that level. Something must have really been fucked up before they put the turbo on or they just had no idea what they were doing..

Agreed. Tuning is key.

Aside from tuning and engine condition, it has a lot to do with how you drive. If you hit redline pulling away from every stop light and run the 1/4 mile every week then it's fair to say that the stock internals won't hold up to terribly long. I don't drive like that though, I run it hard every now and then.
I don't foresee having any problems for a long time, maybe none at all. I've seen plenty of stock engines, Honda and others (h22 included), run mild boost (6lb or less well tuned) for years with nothing more than normal maintenance, and a bit more frequent plug changes.
