Default B16 Bottom end..... Please help....

what is the hight difference between at B16 and a B18? Im looking into getting a stroker kit.. Does that mean its just going to be B18 crank, rods, and pistons?? im so confused at what it is... Are the pistons and rods same as the B16 with a B18 crank.. Please help.....

the b16 has a shorter deck height. you have to buy the stroker kit. you cant throw an ls crank in cause the pistons will protrude through the top. unless you have a b16b which is the same height as b18/b20. all the piston bores are the same. for rods and everything else use the search, im not sure.

the pistons have different dome heights giving different compression ratios. the cranks give different displacement because the throw is changed. depening on which kit most ive seen come with everything like bearings which would be the unreliable part cause people dont change them. ive never seen or heard of a shitty stroker kit. just get it installed professionally.

The B16A has a 7mm shorter deck height than all of the other B blocks (including the B16B).

Thus, most "B16" stroker kits I've seen are for the B16B, and will not work with a B16A. I believe there was a stroker kit out there for the B16A at one time, but it is not made anymore AFAIK.

When you stroke an engine, you change the crank and rods (and all associated bearings & hardware), and in many cases the pistons.
