It's wise to not machine much off at all. Are you talking about shaving some weight off or just resurfacing. If your just resurfacing, just go till it's flat. DO NOT LIGHTEN YOUR OWN FLYWHEEL!

if your talking about resufacing. step dimensions should be 2.75mm or 0.108 inches
if your lightening it, i would just buy a lighter flywheel if i were you. it screws up the integrity of the flywheel. a cheap alterative is to buy a used itr flywheel.

hmm.. no, i was talking about taking weight off. somewhere i read that you could take a few pounds off and have it still be safe.

Just get a new flywheel that is lighter. Everybody I know that's done this usually just goes a step further and gets a lighter flywheel later, and they wish they had done that first.

You will affect the integrity of the stock piece, and you could probably only take off 2-3lbs and have it not completely fly apart on you immediately. So it will only give you a taste of what a real lightened flywheel feels like.

Light flywheel = nothing but good things in a Honda

To a point that is, I think the 6lb jobbers that some companies sell are bordering on too light. 10-11lbs is perfect IMO.

the advantage i have is that my brother has access to a machine shop, so, if i could get the specs somewhere it would cost me nothing. i doubt i'm going to mess with it, though.
