ok my check engine light keeps coming on. when i turn the car off and back on it gose away for awhile. i mena it doesnt do it all the time just alot of the time. i dont know what the problem is. i tried reseting the ecu btu taht didnt fix it. what should i do? also it runs fine just replaced dizzy and alternator. it mainly does it if i step on it.

i dont know how do u check that? i dont know a whole lot bout ecu's and the electronics.

Just look at the light on the ecu and see how many times it blinks. 1 long blink equals 10, and fast blinks equal 1. From how it sounds to me its your oxygen sensor, but go check the ecu and see what code is it throwing.

 

Normally for OBD0 cars you just count the blinks.

 

so i check it when the light is on right? sorry if these questions sound dumb. also how many blonks would it be if it was a o2 sensor?

yeah you have to check the code when the cel is on. o2 sensor is 1 blink.
