I have a 95 GSR with very high mileage 190,000 to be exact and I have these plans to rebuild the enigne and I wanted to ask you all if I was going in the right direction. Note I don't have alot of money to spend. If you have any suggestions please post thanks. Here is what I had in mind
B16 Pistons
B16 Tranny
CTR Intake Cam
Copper Head Gasket

why not rebuild to stock? you'd save money. if moneys the issue just buy the rebuild items.

 

see I had thought about that but wouldn't this make it faster than just normal rebuild parts and its not going to cost that much more.

 

The b16 pistons would raise compression right? Just want know what I should do.

 

I am in the same boat as you....183,000 miles. I am planning on rebuilding this winter, for boost. If you are gonna spend the money, you might as well rebuild it stronger than it was. Sleeve the block, close the deck, get 9:1 compression piston for turbo, or 12:1 for all motor. get new hoses, fuel pump, water pump, oil pan, vtec solenoid, cams etc. Oh yeah dont forget to port the head.
