You're using an MSD cap meant for an extermal coil, correct? If you have the stock coil still in there, it probably won't fit. If you don't have an external coil for this setup, you may just be screwed.
Should just be two screws holding it in.
Im thinking its the box looking thing
that the spring goes in corect?
I dont know the names for all the parts in the distributor.

Yeah, you need to have an external coil to use the MSD cap, so you've got that part right. Now you'll have to take the rotor off again and remove the internal coil (should be a white, rather large part inside the distributor) so everything fits back together
.
You can do it, I have faith in you. Have you run the wires to the external coil yet or are those still attached to the OEM one? If you haven't, it's a shitty night ahead for ya

Can you possibly take a picture of how you hooked everything up so we can tell you what you did wrong? A few simple questions:
1.) is the coil connected to the cap?
2.) how many wires are going to the coil from the cap and how many from the battery/MSD box?
3.) what instructions did you follow?

I'll take pics when i get home later on 2day...
I followed the C-SpeedRacing instructions...
http://www.c-speedracing.com/howto/msdbtm/msd.php
^ I have the AL but I figured its similar
A) I have the Big Red wire going to the Pos Batt. Terminal & the Big black to the Neg Batt Terminal
B) I'm using the external SS coil so I have the
orange wire from the MSD to the positive terminal on the coil and the black wire from the MSD to the negative terminal on the coil.
I followed those steps .... Any more info???
I'll take pics when I get home...
Thanks again
