There are topics about this, do a search. I saw a thread about this very same thing and I believe their method was to bake it.

Hey if you find any "good" way of doing this, please let me know I am in the same boat as you are.

Unscrew the clamping bolts(make sure there is no metal on it before you bake it) then bake it for 10 min at 225 or until the black resin on the side is soft. Use knife (Butter Knife... non sharp) to pry off and becareful not to get resin on the lights or anywhere else because it sticks and is damn hard to get off. Remove orange reflector, it snaps off. Put it back together and let it cool.

P.S. how do i post stuff? i only know how to reply/

u will be there forever with a heat gun, and when one side is melted then it will harden again by the time the other side is melted, it takes like 3 minutes to heat up a hockey stick shaft enough to take out the blade, imagine how long with taillights with 10 times as much to heat up...

Remove the tailight and use a pair of needle nose pliers and crack the orange reflector by going in the top hole (where the bulb/socket goes) crack it apart and shake the pieces out.

Or you can search and find the threads saying this
