Help removing mains

Help removing mains

I searched but couldnt find anything. I'm just wondering if there are any tricks to taking the mains off without damaged them or the girdle. Or do I just wedge and flathead in there and hammer at it?

nevermind, I figured it out. I just lightly tapped them with a rubber mallot on the side and they broke loose enough for me to pry them up.
