Default K20A port/polish head

Has anyone done it before? Once the exhaust manifold gasket is placed on the head there is at least 3-5mm of room to port on the very outside. Has anyone actually done it? I dont want to go too far and end up going through one of the water lines in there or something.
Anyone?

To get optimal gains from porting a head, there are certain shapes and angles that you want to maintain for max flow..you can overport also, which can lead to problems..The K20A can benefit from porting, but I would recommend taking it to a reputable machinist..

I work at a shop where we have reputable machineists
We are just not too sure how far we can go with the overport.
Thanks for the info though

Not to be a dick, but a qualified/reputable automotive machinist should be able to tell upon examination..

well, what setup are you looking for..

Is it all-motor, supercharged, turbo, etc??

Different applications benefit from different work; you don't just want to take it as far as you can possibly go; that will not always yield max power..

Unless you have a flow bench, you are playing with a possible expensive mistake.
Even Comptech said for stock cams and small cams, porting of the head are not necessary. In fact porting them might result in lower HP number.
