Spring rates
Next year I plan on autocrossing my '04 Civic EX in either DSP or STS with the SCCA and I am trying to find out the Stock spring rate and what would be a good spring rate for the car in competition and not make the ride to rigid for street use. Thanks for all your help.
I did a search earlier today and could not find what I was looking for so I was hoping that some one here had any idea. And on a side note did you know that google will only show you 48 pages of search results and in those 48 pages google couldn't find what I was looking for!

That's the ol proverbial having your cake and eating it, right there.
It also depends on personal perference, but a good competition spring rate, even the relatively mild one for an STS car is quite brutal for daily driving.
Start out 500f/500r and go from there.

That's close to what some of my buddies have suggested. But I have talked to a couple of manufactures all they have been able to tell me is that their springs are about 15 to 40% stiffer than the stock springs and with out knowing what the stock spring rate is I am completely lost.

That information is completely useless.
Pick a spring rate and test. If you dont like it, you can easily change the springs (if you're using Ground-control sleeves) and test some more. Wash, rinse, repeat
The info already posted on this forum will give you a rough idea where to start from.
