Default Comptech sway/tie combo or CTR rear sway?

I am trying to decide whether I should buy the comptech rear swaybar/tie bar combo, which is about $390, OR should I just buy a CTR rear sway or some other company's for much less? I know Comptech makes a really nice product, but is it worth that much money? If anyone has the comptech piece, what do you think of it?

What about the progress setup (22mm)... like 155

or....

Neuspeed .... thats more like 230+ .... cheaper alternatives? Type-s sway.

Its 155 for the setup, and yes, they are very nice, in my opinion. Its not like its a no-name company, they mainly do only suspension peices.

22mm is fine, what is your needs? track? daily driver ? better than the pinpole they give stock BY far.

Mostly daily driven, but my friends and I would like to start autocrossing. I just want something that will work fine and I wont have to replace. A friend of mine has a progress swaybar in his car and he isnt that happy for some reason, could just be because he has a DA9. Thanks for your help, i'll probably go with the progress setup.

.... anyone heard anything bad about the progress sway bar kit ? showstoppers has the kit for 155, great price, hondawerx is 170 w/ free shipping.

22mm should be enough, dont really see a difference between this and a neuspeed kit.

I have heard that Progress sway bars have exhaust clearance problems, particularly with aftermarket exhausts. The bar doesn't have a bend in it on the passenger side to help with clearance.

I am using the 25 mm cusco rear sway bar with the Spoon tie bar on my car, along with a few other bars of course. but i love the setup on my car, it handles awesome. i havent been in an ep with either of the setups you are asking about, but i thought i would give you my input.

also, i sell cusco and spoon here at my work, if you are interested in anything i can do those same two bars for 320.00 plus tax with free shipping.

i have the progress bar and spoon n1 exhaust, no clearance issues. one drawback of the sway is the endlink angle which could in the future cause the endlinks to snap or bend but i doubt any of that will be happening. i love my progress bar, got it from robear great seller btw

I would go OEM JDM. it's a 22mm bar and it doesn't even need a brace. plus it's honda so you know it would work well. I've had a 22mm on my type s for a while and I just upgraded the front to ITR with the full JDM brembos and LCAs. so pretty much I have a full type r setup. I feel like I can take this car to go autocrossing and be able to hang with people that have raced.

im curious if a larger front sway bar will help cornering without the rear being upgraded. my backend seems to rotate to easy for me as it is, and i've never got any understeer with my ep(i know it sounds weird but it's true).

You've probably never tried autocrossing it then, heh

i bought just a 22mm comptech rear sway off another forum ($75). the previous owner must have had a big exhaust because it was easy to see where it was touching the bar. it didn't wear off the powdercoating. it tightened up the rear like i wanted and make the car more stable in a quick sweeper and transitional turns.

i was looking at the tie bar online, then was looking at where it would mount on the suspension. it won't make a lot of difference on a street car.

just my opinion, too, but anything ove 22mm is really pushing it. a 25mm+ bar car make your car a little twitchy and even more prone to trail-brake snap oversteer.

Im highly considering teh cusco bar, which is actually 24mm i guess.

But my question is did you get a subframe reinforcement kit ? beaks/hotchkis? I want that bar dont wanna break the bank ! lol.

Did anyone else use or find a good price on subframe reinforcement kits? i dont there is a 24mm kit for that bar tho ... mostly 22mm...

no , but i've rode the car into more then a few tight corners. i used to have a 94 civic and that car understeered. does the ep tend to understeer more once it's dropped?
