Default Newbie!! H22A1 question

I have recently purchased an H22A1 out of a 96 srv prelude. I have been told that this is a closed deck and is also obd2.

I had previously thought that obd2 started in preludes in 97. huh?
Closed deck? does that mean this is good or bad? Good for turbo application?

and one more... which tranny and ecu would you choose?

Yup, it's a closed decked block. It is ODBII, too. ODBII started in ALL cars in 96. It was mandated.

Not sure which is better for turbo though, because I really don't care for turboed Hondas.

Hope this helps.

In stock form, closed deck will be stronger for turbo applications. But once you sleeve the block, they'll both be equal in strength.

So... I am putting this engine in a Civic EK HB, I have read of people using the p28 ecu or p72 ecu. BUT WHY? The stock ecu for that engine is a p13... right? Are all these ecu's obd2 wiring harness compatible?

I am leaning towards a stock ecu to get the car running. I hope that I will only have to add a wire for vtec and maybe change some plugs on the engine side?
