LS VTEC do i need????
im doing ls vtec in my teg but some people are telling me i need to buy new pistons and rods, rod bolts. They say that the piston will hit the valves. so thats my question do i really need it or not??????????
its all a big equation, but if you get the right parts you dont HAVE to. many people will tell you many different things you dont need to upgrade the rods and bolts but
you could run into problems later on depending on what rpms you shift at

i was thinking to set up vtec at 4500 or 4800 and shift at 7000 and people also tell me that vtec controller isnt good for LS VTEC
If you plan on revving past the stock rev-limit (but not past 8000-8500) simply upgrading the rod bolts and shotpeening the stock LS rods should be enough. Upgrading your pistons to bump up the compression will help you gain HP too, but is not entirely necessary unless you're trying to build a drag beast. Do some searching on HT and you'll find a lot of great info
what is the horse power u think i would be at and what u would think i can run at the track?? also would a 75 or 50 be good for ls vtec ???

the brand new Sport Compact Car has a great writeup in the mag. Be sure to get the one with the carbon SRT-4 on the cover. Great instructions with it. They have a complete part list on the first few pages of the article.
this kit should also help
