a 1.8 b series vtec block (gsr) and the b16 head (PR3). It's called a poor mans type r, because the ITR uses the same PR3 head, just with a mild hand port and polish and different valve train, and the block is a 1.8 vtec. I'm "kinda" doin a poor mans type r .. but it's a type r block with a b16 head

i was also under the assumption that it would also involve R cams and either an R intake mani or clone....

Wouldent you have to include pistons of some sort as well. Putting an si head on a gsr block would lose compression and in turn hp.

i think if u put a PR3 pistons on ur "poor mans R" your cr will be a lil higher than using itr pistons...

make sure to change ur pistons if ur doin "poor mans R" if not ur cr will be 9:8...

i got "poor mans R" xcept im using JDM P30 pistons...n better valve train

yes it has potential...

It's no different really. LSVTEC you're making a 1.8 non vtec block to a vtec block ... stroke and compression would be the only differences ... ls having a longer stroke i, than the gsr/itr i believe.
