2000 Honda Civic hard start when cold
Ok, heres the deal see.
My wifes 2000 DX runs fine. But after it sits over night it is very hard to start. It will crank forever it seems. When I say cold start, I mean after sitting for somewhere over 8 hours. We live in south florida and cold isn't really a concept we understand.
If I turn the key on and off several times (like 5!) to cycle the fuel pump, then it will start ok.. I am assuming that the fuel is either:
leaking through the injectors
leaking through the pressure regulator
leaking down the fuel pump
or prehaps the pump is weak
I changed the fuel filter, no change.
I pulled the fuel pump and cleaned the sock, it seemed better for a week or two.
The car has 40k miles.
Since this car doesn't have schrader valve to easily check the fuel pressure and leakdown, I'm not sure how to procede on fixing this.
Thanks
