Default Low on gas.....

When my 97 civic has a little less than 1/4 of a tank it turns over for a couple of seconds and then it starts......its been doin that ever since i had the car!!! WTF is wrong with it?!!?!?!

Mine does the same thing. It's a common thing with civics and probably other cars too I'm sure. It's nothing to freak out about, it's happened to me plenty of times. Someone once explained to me why it does that, but I don't remember the explanation.

Does someone have the explanation for this?

my car does the same thing but instad of sitting on a ¼ tank its like when im on E and its kina cold out side... but im sure its nothing to worrie about or put money into

Nothing. Consider it a suggestion to fill up your damn fuel tank.

It's your fuel pump trying to pump fuel out of an empty tank. When you start it, turn it to the "on" position and allow it to prime the lines for a few seconds before engaging the starter. It should start immediately.

I also see that happen on my 2000 LX. I never made a big deal about it, but I did notice that if I park facing downhill it seems to do this less. ::shrugs::

its normal for all hondas to crank 4-8 times before startup

Speak for yourself. No more than 3 here. Usually 2 cranks, up it fires.
