Default 3000 to spend...worth it to build a CRX? Need some advice from you hybrid owners

i got about 3 G's to spend on a car. Im thinking of restoring an old car like a CRX. I have a 1994 Prelude Vtec for my daily driver. Ive been looking at crx's and i can get one for pretty cheap. Prolly from 1000-1500. I found one with no motor for like 700 bucks. Ive been looking through the years of 88-91. I want to do a swap and then turbo it. I think this would be really fun and a good learning experince. Im going to be doing the swap and turbo myself. What do you guys think? What kind of engine should i get for the rex? B16? How much would the engine cost alone with everything? i want it to be a pretty easy bolt on. Do you think 3 G's will cover the engine and the car? i know it wont cover the turbo. What kinda turbo kits are out there for this type of engine? Any info would help out a lot.
Sorry for all the questions.
Thanks

About all you will be able to do with $3,000 would be buy the car and install a ZC. The B16 would put you above and beyond the $3,000. The ZC is a good motor I have been very pleased with mine.

or u can get a b18a LS motor...that with a turbo in a rex it will surely be fun to say the least....ZCs are straight bolt in but anything b-series will require a motor mount kit($250-500)...with the kit, it will be a bolt in application

A turbo B16A in a CRX is going to be a sick, sick car.

...But like someone stated above, it will cost more than $3k to do. Maybe you should wait a bit and save more money to go the B16A route...

Cost on this has been broken down a bunch of times before, but 3k can def. get you a b16a installed, just not with turbo, and not necess. all the goodies like Portflow head, upgrade valvetrain & cams, clutch and flywheel, etc...700 for a "roller"? That is a good price if the car in reasonable shape re crash damage, rust and paint and interior....
