Default audio cutting out

Hey i put in two 12's in my car hooked it up to a 1200 watt amp and ran it from my head unit. And it worked fine for a few months but now when i put the volume to high it cuts out i figure its a power thing and my amps just draining it but i dont know what to do

upgrade alternator, do a 2 farad cap, optima yellow top. Most popular is the cap.

if it is a power issue an optima battery will clear it up with no problem. they are nasty
