im currently looking to a motor swap to buy asap and I came along two swap. one is from a 96 and the other one is from a 98. Im sure they are all the same, My question is will everything just bolt up and work?? OBD2 motor into OBD1 car. Can i use all the obd2 things???

Will I need: OBD1 distrubutor and injectors??? Down to the point, what will i need to change to make it work OR just let me know everything will work

u need a 92-95 DX disstributor, and the obd1 injectors off of your old engine

other than that everything should bolt in fine, only problem u might have is if its the y7, which the dx is. u will have that wierd intake manifold, and the IACV is 3 wires instead of 2, so u will need to change the intake manifold over to any 92-95 intake manifold, or i would buy a d16y8 manifold, and swap that in with the y7, much better flow than the obd1 manifold, and it will have the right connections u need for the swap, sense the y7 will not.

One more thing, will my 92 harness plug straight up with no mods? So all i need to do is get obd1 distrubutor and injectors then ill be set, can any one else comfirm this. THank for the info

 

u need to use th obd1 alternator aswell
