Default 00 si, secondary o2 sensor removal

here's my situation. i have a 2000 si with 172,000+ miles on it. I am throwing a CEL code 1 and i'm pretty sure the catalytic converter is clogged as well. the car will not go past 4000 rpm without choking. my buddy is supposed to come thru with an extra primary o2 sensor. i have in my hands a test pipe and an o2 simulator plus a heater resistor simulator thingy (as found at http://www.bakerelectronics.com). i just unbolted the cat, and the only thing still connected is the 2ndary o2 sensor. it looks like the wires just go thru a grommet up under the body of the car under the center of the dash.

what is the recommended way to wire an o2 sim in this situation? should i just cut/splice it in place where it is, or should i try to remove the o2 sensor first? and if so, how? i appreciate any tips. i can not afford to pay honda $1200 for a cat and o2 sensor at this time, i just need to get my car running to keep my family functional. thanks!

already did that several times, the CEL comes right back.

ok so i got the cat and secondary o2 off. i have the test pipe ready to go in. but i need something to plug the bung they put in it...I figure I can just plug it with my dead primary o2.

now i'm looking at the secondary o2 and my o2 sim. which wires are which on the o2 sensor? i'm not sure what to do....

update -

i have the test pipe in place and i lucked out by finding the perfect drain plug bolt to fill the bung in the pipe.

i'll try driving around with the secondary o2 foiled up, as i have read about in other threads...if that doesnt work i'll wire up the o2 sim.

in the mean time, i can't even fire it up until i put these cams in...gsr cams...hopefully they are worth the effort of installation - at least they were free....
