Ive got an Intake question
I've heard of O2 sensors going bad when intakes are installed. What other dangers are there when having an intake on a stock engine, and how frequently do they occur???
Not to be rude but questions like this are destroying this forum obviously you have no general knowledge of cars, In the future search first.
Most aftermarket intakes have a spot for o2 sensors like the OE intake. To answer your question I have not heard of o2 sensors going bad from not hooking it up to the intake arm but it might throw a cel or something like that. Only danger of aftermarket intake is the possibility of hydrolocking your engine. If you get a short ram or use a bypass valve you should be ok as long as you stay clear of big puddles. I cant think of any other "dangers". Good Luck bud.

Not to be rude but you have no idea what you talking about right? well, listen
the fact that the two o2 sensors in your accord are located in the exhaust manifold(primary) and the other one inside the cat. converter(secondary).
the purpose of the o2 sensor is to monitor the oxygen content of the wasted gas and calculate how the engine is run, how much fuel is being spray into the chamber, open/close loop operation, etc.
in other word, your intake have nothing to do with your bad oxygen sensor /end of discussion

yeah..forgot the mention that..
if you have a civic you might looking at the MAP sensor, but that's for measuring the pressure in the system, nothing to do with o2 sensor at all.

Jake was an asshat because it STILL was a technical question even if he was incorrect. Ricekiller was just an asshat.
You wont ruin your O2 sensors with an air intake unless somehow it means your engine's total behavior changes, and that doesnt happen. It CAN mess with a MAP sensor but it's not an O2 sensor. A MAP sensor just measures the airflow.
Ta-da!

After installing my intake, I have never had a problem and I've had two different one's on my car for the past three years. Good Luck to you!
