stock intake hoses
well, this may be a stupid question.. but i searched and didnt find anything.. im puttin an intake on sometime this week and im kinda wonderin what all that crap is that goes into the stock intake tube.. honda went nuts with all that crap u dont need.. i can see the sensor being of use, and the vacuum line.. i no to just put a breather on the valve cover.. but theres a few other hoses that i see that dont look like they do much of anything.. i would have posted pics and circled the hoses im talkin about but im still a trail user.. ive put many intakes on diff cars and i never seen so many hoses..
another question.. how long before i get off of this trail member trial lol

the reason that there is a hose from the intake arm to the valve cover is so that gases in the valvetrain area are sucked out. if you just put a breather on the valve cover, the gases are no loger sucked out.

On your Intake should be the IAT sensor, the breather and .....I think that's it. Or does the Air injection connect there as well?

ive seen alot of people with just a breather filter on there instead of the hose. you can still feel air coming out through the filter. i would assume its not so smart to just throw a filter on there then?

This is incorrect. That tube is nothing more than a fresh air supply line to the valve cover. Adding a filter to the port on the top of the valve cover allows the PCV system to pull fresh filtered air into the crankcase, then out through the pcv valve and back into the intake manifold to be re-burned.

The other hoses that you see are coolant hoses that route coolant to your throttlebody. You can remove the factory metal parts of the line and just use little hose inserts to join the hoses together and throw the metal ones away. Or you can also do what I did and bypass your throttlebody alrogether and just rout the coolant back to the block.
