Well the caR has 77k on it and is in desperate need of a tune up... I just purchased the caR acouple weeks back, and it need a face lift.... LEN hooked me up w/fast delivery and great service, all genuine honda parts.

This is what I did today, figure I would post the small project in case there are some people that would like to do this but, are weary and need some pics and help.
TIMMING BELT WILL BE INSTALLED AT LATER DATE
HERES A SHOT OF THE PARTS

THIS IS THE SIMPLE ONE JUST REMOVE THE WIRES,"MINE THAT LOOK LIKE HELL .

NEXT REMOVE OLD PLUGS AND INSTALL NEW ONES.... MAKE SURE YOU CHECK THE GAP..EVEN THOUGH IT SAYS PREGAPPED THERE NEVER RIGHT...ITS CALLS FOR .44 GAP ... WHEN I PULLED THEM FROM THE BOX THEY WERE .35

[B]NEXT TIGHTEN PLUGS TO 13FTLBS OF TOURQE,NOT 13 POUNDS OF WEED
B]

NEXT REMOVE THE CAP BY LOOSENING THE 3 LITTLE SCREWS "2 ON TOP.ONE ON BOTTOM" REOMOVE CAP... THERE WILL BE A LITTLE SCREW BEHIND THE ROTOR FACEING THE FIRE WALL REMOVE THIS... AND THE ROTOR WILL BE FREE TO REMOVE

NEXT REMOVE THE TOP BANJO BOLT ON THE FUEL FILTER THEN THE BOTTOM ONE, INSTALL NEW FILTER THEN TIGHTEN BOTLS " YOU MAY NEED TO DISMOUNT THE WHOLE FILTER ASSEMBLY FROM THE FIRE WALL SO THAT YOU CAN GET TO THE NUT TO REMOVE THE FILTER FROM THE CRADLE... I HAD TO DO THIS.

ok after I finished the install the car idled constantly at 700-900 rpms.. when before is was going from 1000 to 700 here and there... not very smooth... when i test drove the car I notice the throttle response was improved the car accelerated like butter.... and vtec engagment was less noticable, the car had more tourqe with more of a pull due to the butt dyno
all in all it was a tune up well needed, its a very easy and basic tune up that really improves the cars performance back to were it needs to be... all you need is about 30 minutes to an hour.
another post will be added once timminng belt is installed.
hope this can be usefull.

yeah no problem man, i never trust anything that says "pregapped" or "preset" or whatever it may be... always check....
.35-.44 is a big difference ... anyone know how the car would run with a smaller than stock gap... my guess is shitty .. but who knows, were are all the technical ITR owners when you need em

Finally someone that agree's with me. And took the time to show us.
Good mechanics rule: ALWAYS check the gap on your plugs regardless of if they are pregapped.
Nice writeup btw

Whaaa?
Whaaa?
Your ground wire isnt attached how its supposed to be. Its supposed to be going to the valve cover bolts that go to the cylinder head FIY.
good write up. I change out the fuel filter every 15,000 miles or once a year. I have to do my timing belt next. I did my valve adjustment just recently. I hear the crank pully bolt is a real abortion to get out. Anyone have any tips.

I have only 24K miles in 4 1/2yrs since not daily driven.
From my previous 97R, a set of Managor 8.5mm wires has been
just sitting in a box. Do you think its worth installing it over OEM or
just waste of time?
