Goodbye to my GSR..
WTF
Just take the dum *** guage out.
How can it raise oil pressure to 28 lbs anyway? Ignore the fact it can't 28lbs sounds bit low for like normal driving, i assume you mean idle?

its not a GAUGE its a SENDING UNIT that increases the pressure of the oil...
from what the guy told me at acura, a honda tech for over 10 years, stock setting is 7 lbs, this aftermarket part raised it to 28...

Whats a sending unit. Why does it have oil lines? How can the oil lines be too confusing to sort out?
I guess its like a sway bar? Ie your naming of it has no hint at whats it actually does.

I don't see how a sending unit could change the oil pressure. This just sends a pressure signal to a gauge... Only way I could see it is if it was restricting oil flow... in which case you'd just need to take it out and block it off. Can you post pictures of this thing or the oil lines that you are talking about? This seems like it should be something pretty simple to figure out and you may not really need to sell your car. I've heard some really stupid things from techs with more than twice the experience of the tech you worked with. (Specifically a Nissan master tech for 26 years)
ill post pics of the aftermarket piece later i dont feel like taking pics of it...the lines were electrical and they were just cut...idk ill post pics or something...
either way im either getting another DC2 or an EK and swappin the b18 in..

Sounds like you are just being stubborn. Buy a new GSR shortblock for $500, and build that with some pistons and rods, new oil/water pumps and your set.

I dunno... that sounds like a lot more work than fixing what should be a fairly simple problem with an existing car.... just IMHO...

If you do sell your GSR, I hope you tell them that there's something wrong with it otherwise there gonna have to find out the problem for themselves.
extra oil lines.... hmmm... almost sounds like it either had an oil cooler installed... OR (taking a shot here) could this car have had an LS/vtec implanted prior to your purchase? did you check the stamp on the block to see if it says b18c1 for sure? or did it have a turbo prior to your purchase? why the hell else would it have extra oil lines.... maybe the guy before you had a mechanical oil pressure gauge and left in the sender/lines for that unit...
just some fat to chew on

If you are not willing to troubleshoot a problem like this, then you should not even be modifying your car.
To me, this sound like the equivalent of - "My front right tire went flat, soooo I'll be selling the car"
Just find someone in your area that knows a wrench from a hole in the ground and you should be able to get it fixed. It doesn't sound like a complicated problem. . . even if the "sending unit" you are speaking of is inside the block - it's still not worth going through the hassle of selling your car and buying a new one. It just doesn't make sense dude.

I also think your seling the car over an easy *** fix. There are no lines to trace if you've got any clue about your car, you know what lines should be there, especially a damn Acura technician. Buy a used oil ender and swao it in and see what that does, I wouldn' sell my car over it. Kinda weak
