Default 89 Lude SI Runs for 15 to 20 sec. Then dies.

My friend has a 89 Prelude SI 4WS, When he starts it, it will run for like 20 seconds then die. It is consistant. Anyone had this problem before?

Sounds like normal high idle startup.

It runs really smooth, It doesn't seem to spit or sputter, it just dies all at once. If it was fuel filter it would probably start to sputter, wouldn't it.

I could see your theory behind that, but he has started several times over the last few days, and it starts easy. He also put a new battery in a few months ago. Thanks for the help so far.

Well I would change out the fuel filter for the small cost just to rule it out, the symptoms do sound as if it's being starved of fuel and it might not sputter as you expect, it could just die all of a sudden. I include a link with diagram filter is no 4 quite easy to change.

I haven't had a chance to look at it yet, but I know I will have to. Just trying to get a heads up on it. Thanks for your replies so far.
